How to Get Started with GitHub
And much much more!
If you’re learning to code, then I highly recommend you sign up on GitHub. In essence, it’s a cloud-database-cross-social-media-hub where you can store all of your code for the world to see (in some cases).
→ How to Get Started with GitHub
When I was first getting into coding, I wanted to start developing my GitHub profile but I didn’t really feel like I had any code bases or projects to contribute. I was learning code yes, but not really doing that much of it independently. Not to mention that the Git command language seemed a bit too steep of a learning curve. If I were to do it again, this is the strategy I would use to start building my profile from day one!
→ Finding Balance When Learning to Code
I’ve recently noticed a trend on YouTube where people are popularizing extreme productivity. Optimize this, minimize that; you get the idea. And while I feel there is some value in learning skills and strategies to be productive with your time, it’s just as important to prioritize periods of intentional relaxation and down time. If you don’t recharge, you’ll walk the sure path of burnout and you risk exhausting your passion for code. Learn more about how I managed my learn to code journey whilst still making time for video games in this video!
→ Next.JS 14 Static Site Generation (SSG)
One of the coolest features about Next.JS 14 is that we can create statically generated pages via their SSG protocol. My Roadmap takes advantage of this feature and if you’re not sure why it’s so amazingly cool, then I’d recommend watching this video!
Happy coding and stay cool my friends :P
Cheers
