Learn to Code in 2024

Here's how!

Learning to code can be a painful process at the best of times. I remember when I was learning, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of resources out there; everyone telling me I should learn different things in different orders. Not to mention the fear-mongering that goes on in the realm of the internet. And then we have to consider how quickly the industry changes, the tech evolves, and there’s always something new to learn on the ethereal horizon of the internet. It can feel impossible.

These are all problems that I experienced as I self-taught programming, and consequently they’re issues I try to remediate with the resources that I create and share through my platforms. I believe the learn-to-code experience should be linear. It should have everything you need to know in one place, where you progress through the content in digestible increments until you’re a 10x hyper-mega-super-developer. Simple really. And if that’s an experience you’re looking for in 2024, then this might be the video for you :P

→ Critical Mass App

Also a fun announcement on my behalf! For those unaware, many years ago I pledged myself to eternally chase the fabled pump. Having basically lived in the gym for years, I’ve always wanted to create my own fitness app (totally free - just for the memes) that has a bit more personality & flare, not to mention brains and functionality too, than most of the boring and uninspiring apps out there.

In my latest video, I actually share part of the exercise code base and demonstrate the process of developing a fitness web application:

A great project for any portfolio and for learning React.js too. The real app though, is going to be legendary, spoken of in tales for years to come. Here’s a sneaky peak at some of the UIs under development at the moment!

She’ll be available on the android & apple app stores in the not so distant future and there might be a sneaky announcement video on the YT too. However if you’re keen to try it on launch, you can register your interest here →

Stay cool my friend and I’ll see you next week :P
